Hybrid type dehydrator / Sludge drying, Recycling drying
There are a lot of kinds of dehydrator for sludge arises from wastewater treatment plants. Among them, hybrid type dehydrator is a condensation dehydrator which has both condensation and dehydration function combined.

Hybrid type dehydrator is a condensational dehydrator in which condensation function and dehydration function are combined, and it can perform condensation and dehydration processes within one apparatus although they are conventionally two separated processes. Condensation function and dehydration function are separated and independent, and their structure is screw type for both of them. While condensation and dehydration functions are independent, sludge being fed can be treated depends on its condition, density, etc.
Its screen is not filtering cloth but made by metal which required small amount of cleaning water and it has sealed structure that can cope with odor easily.
As flocculants, there are two types which are two-packs type with inorganic plus polymer and one-pack type with polymer only, and the choice is made based on types and condition of sludge.

Water in the sludge thickened in the sludge thickener tank are removed at dehydration process to a certain degree.
However, moisture content is normally more than 80% and the sludge still has adhesiveness and stickiness. Also, latter processes are not easy because of influence of flocculants.
